Lake Powell 2014

 

I was so sad I didn't bring my camera this trip. SO a couple iphone pics and description will have to do. So first off this is the first time I have left Kingsley and Hudson EVER! We left Kingsley one night for our anniversary & Hudson never more than a couple hours! I was pretty nervous & stressed out, but they did great. So great in fact that neither of them wanted to come to me when I got home :( I may have cried just a little. I must have looked different because Kingsley kept asking Jeremy "Is that my mommy?" So I wasn't stoked about that, but we did have a fun trip.

We drove down with the Schoutens and Sanders. Tanner and some of his friends met us down there as well as Chris Tate. The food was of course delicious. We found the best spot in between a tall rock wall and sand cove. We mostly surfed behind the boat and laid out on a big tube. There was also a lot of embarrassing stories told! ha

We managed to get away with no injuries and only a minor ticket so that counts as a successful trip for us!

Looking through these pictures just makes me sad, because as you can see there are basically none! I mean really this picture below is the only one I have of King :(

 I have been super bad at taking pictures lately, maybe it's from being tired and pregnant but I'm really just out of the habit.  This definitely wasn't the smoothest Lake Powell trip as you can see from the next couple pics..

Yep this is the outdrive of the houseboat ripped right off! The water was super low and Earl drove over a rock/sandbar. This all happened while Jeremy and Chris were stranded on the ski boat because it had starter issues.

So basically a lot of time was spent trying to fix all the broken boats. We only had one working jet ski!

 Surprisingly with all the issues and kids we survived with no issues. Though we were basically stranded we had lots (maybe too much) wonderful food.

 And a fun time hanging out with family.

Well hopefully next trip we will have better luck, but I think we made the best of the situation and Kingsley enjoyed himself and decided to start walking all over the place!

Labor Day Lake Powell

This Labor day we loaded Kingsley up and headed to lake powell! I was a little nervous to bring him, but he ended up doing great!

The drive down was awful, just so long. K slept most of the time, but we didn't get there until 2am. Seriously such a bad idea! Then the boys woke up at 5am launched the boat & then headed off to golf. Seems like another stupid idea to me, but oh well.

Jer wouldn't let me pack my camera, so I only have some iphone pictures of our trip. Kingsley did awesome and slept through most the nights, and generally was in good spirits. He even got to ride on the boat :)

We had so much fun with the Browns, Schoutens, and Tates, + Courtney. It was the perfect amount of people.

Safety first!

Seemed like most of the time was spent on the speed boat this trip.

Brooke basically kicked everyones butt surfing.

We had such a great trip with awesome friends and food. The only downer was when we were leaving we got cited for not getting the boat inspected for mussels on accident, which ended up being a $2,500 fine! Ya seriously it was one expensive Lake Powell trip in the end. At least we will be wiser next year

Lake Powell 2011

So as I mentioned we recently got back from Lake Powell! I have such fond memories of going every summer with my family and friends.

This year we went over labor day, which was perfect temperature wise. Jeremy's parents were so kind to let us bring our friends down to hang out with them & their buddies on the newly renovated boat.

Some of the fun things we did:

hung out on the "Salon". The salon was a dream come true, with it's enormous size we could all fit, get some tanning in, and even wash our hair through the convenient hole. Hence the reason we named it the salon.

Apparently Jeremy struggled climbing down on his own.. And that's why you should always use the buddy system!
