Hudson is 8 months!

Oh man I love this little guy. He is just the sweetest little boy. He has the best little dimples and contagious laugh.
This  last month has been a roller coaster with this little one.  Him and Kingsley both got sick and it lasted almost two weeks! There was a lot of crying, runny noses, and rashes. Hudson can be very particular making him difficult at times. He is either the happiest guy on the planet or a hot mess. Unfortunately I think the poor guy has a really sensitive stomach so some days he just cries and twists in discomfort. Because of that I hardly nurse him at all anymore to avoid things in my milk upsetting him. It's easier to regulate what he is getting with just formula and baby food.
Hudson is totally a wiggle worm now a days. I dread changing his diaper and trying to get him to stay still. He is full on crawling now though he is not super speedy. He finally sits up but still tips over if he's not paying attention. This little guy loves to pull himself up on everything. The couch, chairs or tables. He also loves to climb in the cupboards. He was falling a lot earlier on but he has started to get more coordinated. I do need to baby proof since he has started to try and climb up the stairs.
Hudson's schedule is pretty consistent lately. I put him to sleep at 8-8:30 and he sleeps about 11 hours till 7:30-8. He does sporadically wake up here and there if his stomach is hurting. He wakes up and drinks a bottle and then him and King just play with toys in the morning. He eats breakfast which is usually rice cereal, and then takes his first nap around ten which usually lasts 1.5-2 hours. When he wakes up around noon then we usually go do something outside like swimming, lagoon, or just run errands. Then he takes his second nap along with Kingsley at about 2:30. I rock him to sleep while he drinks a bottle, about 4-6 oz. I love when Hudson wakes up because it is usually before Kingsley so we get some alone time. I love kissing his smiling sweet dimple cheeks! Hudson gets a little fussy in the evening since it is the longest he is awake, but he eats dinner and then just plays around until he takes 6 ounces of formula and is off to bed.
Hudson loves baths and water! He screams every time we take him out. He just loves to splash around. He has been to the splash pad and pool and really enjoys both. Hudson loves to follow Kingsley and Diesel around and pull their hair :) He loves lights and to put golf balls in his mouth.. I know super strange. He also like to crawl back and forth under the bed even though he usually bonks his head a couple times.

Hudson still hates the car seat and isn't a fan of the stroller either, which is very frustrating. He start crying and arching his back to get out the second we put him in the car seat and sometimes continues to cry most of the ride. Poor guy just really hates being strapped in. He is OK in the stroller but typically doesn't last very long until he wants me to hold him.
Hudson isn't quite talking much though sometimes he likes to sing/yell random gibberish. And on occasion he can say mama.
Hudson is really good at eating baby food but prefers solid food even more like little pieces of bred, avocado, or beans. Along with the dissolvable puffs. He is alright with the bottle but usually doesn't drink it all in the same sitting. He hardly nurses at all in the mornings just for a couple minutes or so. If Hudson is cranky he likes to suck on a binkie, but if not then he usually just chews on it.

Hudson is 6 months!

I can't believe my baby boy is at the half year mark! He is just growing up way to fast!
Hudson's stats this month were:
Head: 44.5cm, 84%
Height: 26.4 in @ 38%
Weight: 16.5 oz @ 33%
So basically always the same. Big head with a small body. His head never looks as large as Kingsley's did/does but it measures about the same. He looks pretty chunky to me too, so I'll never know why his stats always say he's small.
Hudson's schedule has continued to develop nicely. A typical routine is:
8:30: 6oz bottle and bedtime. He likes to roll over his side and hold his snuggly. He sleeps about 10 hours until 6-7am, I nurse him and then he sleeps until 8-9am. I keep meaning to sleep train him, but it's hard to let him cry it out in the morning because then I worry about it waking Kingsley & I can't get back to sleep either. He's always really happy in the mornings and likes to lay by Kingsley while he watches cartoons. Hudson surprisingly is entertained by tv as well. Hudson takes his first nap around 11am. He usually needs me to nurse him or drink a bottle to fall asleep. Hudson sleeps anywhere from 45min to an hour and a half. When he wakes up he eats lunch with Kingsley. Usually rice cereal, but he has tried a a couple other things. He is a pretty good eater. He doesn't seem to devour it like some babies do, but he doesn't spit it out like Kingsley did. Hudson plays on the floor and rolls around everywhere, he always needs to be holding on or chewing something. Hudson takes an afternoon nap around 2. I usually time it with Kingsley's nap so I can get a break from both of them to get things done. This nap is typically longer from 1-2 hours. Hudson still enjoys hanging out on his play mat though he doesn't end up there very long since he is scooting all over the place. He is really trying to crawl but isn't there quite yet. Depending on what we are doing at night Hudson takes a nap maybe every other night. I'm sure he will drop it soon. Hudson eats dinner with us in his bumbo, though he is getting too big for it now that he tries to wiggle out. Since I'm losing my milk supply I give Hudson formula at night, usually 6 ounces or so. Then I pump later to have some extra breast milk to use during the day.
Hudson seems to be learning a lot of new tricks lately. He loves to babble to himself or anyone who will listen. He is a little wiggle worm! It makes him impossible to hold because he is always trying to escape. When I set him down he ends up on the other side of the room. He is a very bust baby always grabbing everything in view. He won't nurse with Kingsley around or any noise for that matter because he gets easily distracted.
This sweet boy is so happy. He is always smiling with his mouth wide open. Which is why he always has slobber all down the front of him. He just loves attention. He is happiest if he is being held, he is sort of needy that way. If I set him down and walk away he starts screaming.. ha he can be dramatic. So now I have to slyly disappear. He is very aware of his surroundings. He doesn't really enjoy riding in the car probably because he drops all his toys in the first 5 minutes.
Hudson wears size 4 diapers. He fits into 6-12month, but can wear 12-18month tops. He has a longer stomach just like me making bigger tops more ideal. As you can see he has lost most of his hair, just wispy pieces.
I just love my little Huddy Buddy. He is so fun to squeeze and cuddle. He is so ticklish and I just love to make him laugh and see his adorable dimple :)

Kingsley wanted his turn for a picture which I jumped on because he usually hates when I try to take his picture.
And he loves to try to give Hudson his binkie though he usually doesn't like it.

Hudson is 4 months!

And another month flies by!
We just love our little "Huddy Buddy" as we call him. He has the sweetest little face, and I love kissing his cheeks!

So at his 4 month appointments these were his stats:
Weight: 22% @ 14 pounds
Height: 37% @ 25 inches
Head Circumference: 74% @ 43cm

I was surprised and sad that his weight had tapered off. It didn't drop as drastically as Kingsley's had at 4 months, but it felt disappointing to see his weight go down. It's odd because he just looks pretty chubby to me, so I didn't expect to have to worry about my milk supply AGAIN.... WaWa What's really stressful is the fact that Hudson won't take a bottle so my breast milk is the only source of food he is getting. This is probably my biggest regret with Hudson, is not sticking with the bottle so I could leave him or give him formula. I just was so worried about my milk issues with Kingsley that this time around I focused solely on breastfeeding. So basically I traded one mistake for another. Because of that I have started to give him rice cereal which he eats fairly well. Which will be refreshing since Kingsley hardly could eat any form of mush until 8 months!
Anyways enough about that. Hudson's schedule is still all over the place. I'm sure some of it is my fault not being consistent on when I lay him down, but I just can't seem to find a natural rhythm with him. I will think I have it all figured out but then after a couple days it all changes. He is just so unpredictable, especially at night. I never know when he is down for the night? Sometimes 8pm, 10pm, or later if I put him down early and he wakes up thinking it was only a nap. During the day he is a pretty good sleeper though. Seems like he takes 2-3 naps and sometimes a two to three hour nap in the afternoon. I swear he will sleep the longest if I nurse him in my bed little stinker. We don't swaddle him anymore, and he alwasy sleeps with his head tilted back and his hands up by his face. He has been sleeping in a bassinet in the closet, but as of the last couple nights we have moved him up to King's old crib. Something nice about Hudson is he it is a pretty sure thing he will fall asleep in his car seat and will stay asleep when I transfer him too.
Hudson just loves attention. He loves to be talked to, held and played with. He is very smiley and is also really ticklish which I love. He doesn't enjoy tummy time much, but spends more time in the mamaroo, bumbo, playmat, & bouncer. He also is pretty interested in the tv. He is getting very aware of his hands and is constantly sucking on them. (as seen below) He holds his head up totally now which makes carrying him around easier. He recently has started to enjoy holding onto his sophie giraffe and ball. It is fun to have him be more interactive, Kingsley especially loves it and always wants to get his little ball for him to hold :)
Kingsley wanted Hudson to sing into his mic, funny big brother :)
Love this little monkey of mine. He has transitioned into a much easier baby, although he seems either happy or furious there is not much in between. He is just very particular in what he wants I guess. This sweet little boy is just too adorable!

Hudson is 3 months!

Oh my little Huddy Buddy! It's so sad that the 2nd child grows up even more quickly than the 1st one. This little guy sure can melt my heart. To be honest though this is truly the first month that I have wanted him to stop growing up so fast, in his earlier months I really struggled with wanting him to get older, to become less fussy, and sleep better. Well it seems all of that has fallen in place and I couldn't be more in love with this little man.
Hudson has a pretty consistent schedule these days. Though he does not sleep as well as Kingsley did at nights, he is more of a sure thing during the day taking naps. Within the last week I have decided to push his bedtime to 8ish instead of 10. He kept sleeping in until ten or eleven, and I would rather have him on a similar schedule with King so they can sleep and nap at the same time. Plus that hour or two is the only possible alone time Jeremy and I get to have to watch tv and relax. So as of let he goes down at 8ish wakes back up at 10/11 and then goes anywhere from a 5-7 hour stretch typically waking up somewhere around 5am and then is up for the day around 8 or 9am. Kingsley was sleeping thru the night at this point but I swear I am a bigger softy with Hudson. I swear I thought I would be tougher with my second child, but I think I just feel badly for him that during the day that he doesn't get enough attention so I baby him a little. Anyways though it is just barely he is progressing at night & I know he will get better eventually so I'm not gonna sweat it and just savour this sweet baby. Once Hudson is up for the day he typically takes 4 naps. One in the morning about an hour after he wakes up for about an hour, then somehow I have trained him to take a long nap at the same time as King at one-ish. He will sleep for an hour and a half wake up to eat and then go back to sleep for another hour. It is the greatest to have them both asleep at the same time. It doesn't always work out perfectly, but it typically gives me enough time to take a nap or tackle a sewing project. He then takes another short nap in the evening before bed. He has gotten so easy to put to sleep, he gets whiny and I just pop in his binky and rock him for a minute and then set him down. Kingsley would wake up the second I set him down, so it's so nice Hudson will sleep in the bassinet since I can't hold him all day like I did with Kingsley. He also naps really well in his mamaroo and his car seat.
We just think our little Hudson is so handsome. He just has the cutest little face. We wont have any stats until next month, but I know he still is on the bigger side since he has been wearing 3-6 month clothes for a while now and they are pretty snug. His hair is thinning out, but he has the hugest dimple and prettiest eye lashes.
Hudson loves to be talked to and chats back all day long.  He is super ticklish and I love to get him giggling because it is the best sound ever. His dimpled smile is the cutest thing too. For the most part he is a really happy baby. He does prefer to be held, but what kid doesn't? Lately he enjoys sitting in his bumbo, laying on his play mat, and I have even put him in the bouncer a couple times. He can't last longer than 15 minutes, but it's something. I have narrowed it down that dairy really upsets him, so every once in a while if I can't resist a meal or forget he has a freak out.. Poor guy, but at least now it only lasts an hour versus all day when he was younger.
Nursing is still going well, and he consistently eats every 3 hours. I do wish he would take a bottle, and can't believe I didn't keep it up like I had with Kingsley. It makes it difficult to always have to time how long I have until he eats again.
Lately he enjoys sucking on his fists, sticking out his tongue and still likes tummy time.
Being a mom is the greatest blessing ever. With Kingsley I could still do a lot of my own things, where as now with Hudson I hardly ever have a second to myself. It's almost like one kid is part time, and two is full time! ha Maybe a third is overtime?
Well I couldn't be happier to have this little guy in my life, and can't wait to see him grow and change.

Hudson is two months

And just like that Hudson is two months old!
His stats were:

Weight: 12 pounds 3 oz @ 44%
Height: 23.5 inches @ 70%
Head: 15.75in @ 74%
I know I'm his mom, but Hudson is such a handsome little guy! With all his hair, petite features, and long eye lashes he's just so suave looking :) He for sure has his dads chin, head shape, and eye lashes. He has the same nose as Kingsley which I am undecided where that comes from. Not sure I see any of myself in him yet except that we both have blue eyes.
At about a month and a half Hudson took a turn for the better! It was crazy, all the sudden he just stopped being so fussy & got better & better each day. Still not even sure what was causing him to be so unhappy, but we are stoked he has grown out of it. Don't get me wrong he still has an episode here or there but they only last about 15mins and then he always calms down. When he is awake he is such a happy baby. This is crazy for me to say, but he might be even more smiley than Kingsley was! He loves to be talked to. He will smile & almost laugh. He also makes the sweetest cooing sounds when he is trying to talk back. During the day he has got a ton easier, where I don't have to hold him all the time. He will sleep in his mamaroo or my bed, and can even fall asleep on his own some of the time. If he is tired he loves to sleep in his car seat. It is so nice because he will fall asleep so quickly and I can transfer the car seat anywhere and he will remain asleep. Kingsley would never do that, he would always wake up the second the car stopped. Hopefully he is a heavier sleeper. He still isn't awesome at night, but is slowly making progress. He does about a 4 hour stretch, 3 hours, and then another 3 hours which put us up for the day around 7:30. So its nice the he has cut out waking up 3 or 4 times and is down to just 2. The thing that frustrates me most is when he won't go back to sleep easily. I hate standing up and rocking him back to sleep just to put him down and have him wake back up. He doesn't do it all the time, but it makes it so hard when he does.
He continues to eat every 3 hours and spits up a lot. I can't make it thru a day without getting barf all over my clothes :( He eats super quickly, anywhere from 5-10 minutes which is great. I am concerned however that he won't take a bottle. I was trying to be so diligent this time around with my milk supply and nursing that I haven't really been offering him bottles.. Hopefully I can get him to start taking them so I could leave him for more than 3 hours at a time. This little man is so strong and wiggly. He holds his head up so well, but moves around so much that I call him my little bobble head. I have to be super cautious while holding him or he will try to jump out of my hands! He loves to do tummy time and stand on his legs. He enjoys sucking on his fist as well as a binkie.
I could kiss his sweet cheeks all day long. Love him to death!

Hudson is One Month!

This little monkey of mine is growing like crazy fast! They typically don't have babies in for well check appointments until they are two months, but I had his weight checked when we were at Kingsley's 18 month check up and little Dude is a hefer! He already weighs 12 pounds. He eats every 3 hours like clockwork for about 8-10 minutes. It's nice he eats so quickly although I hope he starts being able to go longer in between feedings. Especially at night. Kingsley always slept well at nights, where Hudson is on the same 3 hour cycle day and night. It makes me nervous of how I will sleep train him in the future since it doesn't seem natural to him. I just switched Hudson over to size 2 diapers to avoid his constant blow outs. His 0-3 month clothes are already pretty snug, so he can already wear some 3-6 month clothes!
Hudson is such a strong little guy. I am amazed how old he seems since he is physically so far ahead of where Kingsley was at one month. He can hold up his head super well which makes holding him easier. He loves to be held so he can stand on his legs & bounce up and down. He surprisingly doesn't mind tummy time, probably because he holds his head up on his own. The crazy thing is he already rolls over almost every time I put him on his stomach. He also scoots with his legs. Baby boy is so strong.
Unfortunately Hudson is a pretty fussy baby. We are not sure if he has acid reflex or colic, but he is often unhappy. He spits up often, has gas, and just always seems to be uncomfortable poor guy. He is especially awful at nights, which is really hard since that's obviously when I am the most tired. SO frustrating dealing with a screaming baby. It is so difficult for me to get anything done because he always wants to be held or he can't sleep. I feel so sad for him. I am so lucky that Kingsley is so easy and accommodating. He loves his baby brother, and must know that I can only deal with one demanding kid. And although I hate to say it, it does help that Kingsley is into cartoons right now.
I keep praying that although I am having a really hard time dealing with Hudson, I can remember how quickly it goes by. To enjoy the good moments, and realize he won't be a fussy baby for long. I am so blessed to have two healthy boys. I just got to make it thru the next couple months and hope Hudson starts sleeping better at night and getting less fussy.

Hudson's two week appt

The time is just cruising by. I can't believe my little guy is getting so old! I need him to stay a baby because Kingsley is already so grown up.
I am going to try my best not to compare Hudson to Kingsley, but it's hard not to since that's the only child rearing experience I know.
Hudson is a pretty good baby. He eats really well which is a totally different experience for me since he has already gained a lot weight. His two week stats were:

Head: Average
Length: 22.5 Inches
Weight: 9 pounds 5 Ounces
(I forgot to write it down, so this is what Jeremy remembered)
So with his weight gain I am solely nursing. It is such a much better experience this time around. Nursing is so much easier and less painful. Although that is much easier, the fact that Hudson wants to eat so often can be difficult. He is a really quick eater only lasting 10-15min tops which is so nice, but he likes to eat every 2-3 hours. I know that is normal, but Kingsley always went closer to 4 hours and nursed for longer which in some ways was easier.  The thing that I really struggle with Hudson is his nighttime schedule. Besides the fact that he wakes up multiple times at night, he has the hardest time falling back asleep. He just wants to be held, and even when I think he is passed out and lay him back down he wakes back up. Kingsley just always nursed and went right back down so I struggle knowing what to do with Hudson.
I know it will take time, but I just haven't quite figured Hudson out yet. He cries randomly for no reason that I can figure out, constantly seems to have gas, and always wants to be held. He is just so different from Kingsley so I feel like a clueless new mom all over again. He really is a sweet boy, just very unpredictable.
Kingsley is very sweet with Hudson, always wanting to know where he is and give him kisses. He doesn't understand how to be soft still though and wants to lay on Hudson or force binkies into his mouth.  For the most part he seems to like the baby, I just don't dare to leave them alone together anytime soon.

Kingsley is 12 months!

We did it!! We survived a whole year! I just can't believe I have had this little guy that long! It has truly been one of the best years of my life, I love my Kingsley more than words. Here are his monthly pictures 0-12months!
 Kingsley's 12 month stats:
23% for height at 29 inches
21% for weight at 20.14 pounds
82% for head circumference at 18.50 inches
This little babe is at such a fun age. He is getting so close to walking. He loves to hold our hands and walk around. He loves to play outside though he refuses to crawl on the grass. He does a bear crawl where he won't let his knee's touch, silly boy :) He loves to ride on any sort of car/vehicle while outdoors. He and I ride around in the golf cart often while Jeremy golfs. He still doesn't know how he feels about most animals but is obsessed with birds and watching them fly around.
I am happy to say I was able to push his morning wake up time back until 8am. He still takes two naps but is slowly dropping the second. Kingsley isn't a great eater. He hates all vegetables and is very inconsistent on how much he will eat. He spits out anything he doesn't like. Hopefully I can get more creative with things to feed him. Right now he likes yogurt, cheese, bananas, oatmeal, rice, noodles, chips, potatoes, turkey and juice.
Kingsley's new trick is being an "Indian". He will put his hand to his mouth and make the indian noises. "owwawawa" It's the cutest thing ever. He still likes to count and copy words we say. Lately he says "ought-oh" the most. Usually when he throws something down. He also says good job, ball, love you, night night as well as other random words.
He also loves to clap if you even mention the word Patty Cake. He is learning so quickly and is so smart! Kingsley loves swimming and playing with balls. He especially loves holding and throwing golf balls.
He is working on cutting his 4th tooth and looks like his 5th & 6th are right behind, which means we are in for some more grumpiness unfortunately.
Kingsley loves and knows both Grandparents and enjoys spending time at their houses. He is not super friendly to new people but always gives them a shy smile.
This baby has my whole heart, I just love him so!
