Husband Repellent

There is nothing my husband hates worse than this..

He loathes this high waisted swimming suit I am wearing more than anything. Seriously he gags when he sees me wearing it. I'm not sure what he finds so disturbing about it, or all high waisted things in general. I have a pair of high waisted pants that he also despises. I try to tell him it's cool, but he strongly disagrees. He thinks I am purposely trying to look ugly? Is it just my husband, or are high waisted things just husband repellent in general?

They can't all be winners

So as I have mentioned I have been dabbling in designing & getting custom dresses made. I take fabric to my local tailor here in Mexico & she without a pattern pops out some amazing stuff. This time I have to say I was a little disappointed. I lost the inspiration picture for this dress, though it doesn't matter since they don't look anything alike. It was supposed to have a tulip skirt, and a ruffle top which I thought would be the perfect beach cover-up. As you can see there is no tulip bottom and the ruffle is more like just draping fabric. I guess I had not left her enough fabric, though unfortunately I think most of it was wasted on the top which is 3X's too big! You can't tell by the picture since I have it tucked under my armpit, but I could fit a whole watermelon in with me I promise!

Jeremy says I can't complain because even though she can be real flakey & this dress didn't turn out like I wanted, what can I really expect for $15? He is probably right, they can't all end up winners. Plus I think I enjoy the process more than I do the actual finished dresses :) I am crossing my fingers my little sisters homecoming dress turns out much better. I will post it once she has it on and is all done up for the dance :)

For now it looks like I will be putting the dress making on hold since we will be in Utah every other 2 weeks. Yep we are still part time. I will see all my Utahians this Sunday!

Feeling Fall

I am so excited for fall! It is starting to cool down even here in Mexico & I loved pulling out my cardigans & scarfs. A couple looks I am looking to recreate this fall:

Nonsense of all sorts

This whole post will be dedicated to all the random nonsense going on in my head & real life. If you find it strange just ignore me..

*I have had to put a time limit of an 1 1/2 of television watching a night because it seems every night there are a zillion things we want to watch including: glee, teen mom, american idol (which is 2 nights), ABDC, Kloe & Lamar, and somehow Real World Las Vegas.. I know it's gotta stop!

*My hair is 24 1/2 inches right now. Measured from center part down, that has to be a record. Speaking of hair I really want to learn how to do these old fashion curls.. Anyone know how??

*Jeremy has not spoken to me in the last 2 days. Don't worry we are not in a fight or anything, but he is reading Water for Elephants & can't seem to put it down. So funny when he comes home for lunch & goes straight upstairs to get his book. Silly boy. At least it takes time away from our t.v problem above..

* We have really liked jamming out to Black Eyed Peas new album lately & even watched a live concert on MTV the other night. Which always starts the debate of whether Fergie is hot or not.. Anyways we found out we both love Jaime Gomez (Taboo) & he is definitely our favorite in the group. It's things like this that reassure us we are soul mates :)

* I am currently obsessed with anything rainbow, shoes & geometric patterns.

*Yesterday I went to an Acrylic paint class. (Erin are you proud?) I think it turned out pretty good even though this is not my style..

*I  HATE cold sores!!!! I currently am sporting 2 these days :(

* I have been singing at the top of my lungs to ADELE's new album all week. I am just addicted to her voice. I really would love to see her in concert, but alas tickets are from $350-$800! Apparently other people love her as much as I do :(

*My nephew Atlas called me last night (with the help of his parents), and man that kid just melts my heart. It is so sweet to hear him saying my name & knowing he finally knows who I am. It reminded me of when I got to watch him as a baby & oh how I miss those days. I miss him often.

*I can't seem to say the word supposedly. It is for some reason a tongue twister for me. I always exchange the D for a B. Supposebly? I just can't get it right.. Anyone else find this word difficult to say?

*Diesel's daily schedule:

6am- crawl's out from under the covers and walks all over the bed. Paws dad's face till he says NO! NOT YET!!

6am-730am- lays by dad's face and wags his tail every time dad moves.

730am- dad FINALLY feeds you, while mommy still peacefully sleeps. You lick your bowl clean & then come up & do a weird silent bark thing & pace back in forth till mom picks you up.

8-9am- lays at the corner of the bed with his paws hanging out from under the covers until mom gets up for the day.

9-10am- takes a lovely stroll to one of his 3 pooping areas. He sniffs around everywhere like he might choose a new spot but then comes back to his usual dumping grounds. He circles between 11-16 times & then pops a squat. (He is very particular) Then he pee's on at least 7 different rocks/plants/trees.

10-1pm- lays on the couch & does absolutely nothing until dad comes home for lunch. Greets him at the door & sits on his lap while I make lunch.

1-2pm- silently stares at us while we eat lunch.

2-430pm- takes nap.

430-5pm- follows mom around to remind her it's almost dinner time. Eats or shall I say swallows his food at 5pm.

530-7pm- takes a second walk or some sort of field trip to the golf course, beach or dad's office for exercise.

7pm-silently stares again while we eat dinner.

8pm- runs around like a crazy.

830pm- chews on his toy fox.

9pm- snores the night away.

repeat this everyday.

 Why didn't Anthropologie come out with this site when I was getting married!? sigh.. Here are my 3 favorite wedding gowns:

Love the 1st one which is surprising since it is the least expensive, it just is so dreamy & vintage. I love the sparkly chest & tiers on the 2nd dress. The 3rd is just awesome with a million pleats!

 The best part is they even have sweet cover-ups so you could wear all these with g-ments! 

I didn't love the accessories, they were a little too crazy for my taste. I did however really really love

I would wear these every day if I owned them! Alas they are very expensive :(

I wonder if Jeremy wants to renew our vows... I'm sure he lays awake at night wishing he could re-do our wedding to wear a new suit he saw online.. haha

The Academy Awards..

Jer & I watched the AA with his brother and wife. All and all I found it to be very boring. Honestly the only thing I cared about were the dresses. That is the one reason I wish I was famous, (besides being rich of course) is to get to wear these amazing formal dresses that would be out of place anywhere else. But since I can't I will just critique the ones I saw.

First, dresses I hated:
This dress reminds me of Styrofoam that you put in packages with fragile things. Not good.

First off this dress does nothing for her figure, and mostly it just reminds me of what a fairy godmother would wear with a lot of gold glitter.

Sadly as much as I loved her old movies, this is pretty awful. Her hair, accessories, and dress are just all hideous.

I feel like with SJP I either love it or hate it. This one I hate, it's just weird.

Now onto dresses I loved.

I think this dress is very cute and romantic. I'm not necessarily in love with it on her skin tone but the dress itself is beautiful.

This dress I think is really cool. I love all the different textures mixed together with the black accents.

I thought this dress was really pretty. It is simple but has just the right amount of sparkle and fit her really well.

This dress I couldn't figure out:

I love the top and the bottom, but together they are a big mess! I don't know where the bottom would be appropriate, but the texture is so awesome.

And finally the dress I would wear:

I just love black you can never go wrong with that. It looks sleek, elegant, and sexy a perfect mix.
