Though I haven't blogged much or at all about this pregnancy I better just do an overview and get on with Hudson's birth story.
This pregnancy was much different than my experience with Kingsley. I felt much sicker in the beginning leading me to believe I was possibly having a girl. Alas it of course was another little guy. The first couple months were so so exhausting. Mostly because I couldn't lay around and sleep all day since I had Kingsley to take care of. The 2nd pregnancy went so much faster, but is definitely not as exciting as the first. Once I stopped feeling sick, I would often even forget I was expecting! I think just because of course you have been thru it before, but also with it being another boy I didn't have a whole lot of things I needed to buy or get prepared. These last couple weeks have been some of the most difficult. I have had serious back pains, making it impossible to sleep. I never lost the last ten pounds I gained with Kingsley making this pregnancy ten pounds heavier which I'm sure didn't help either. I was positive I would go into labor super early but sure enough I started having light contractions the night before I got induced on the 15th of October.
We arrived at the hospital at 6:45am. After we checked in they started me on Pitocin and broke my water. I was surprised I was only dilated to a 3 since two weeks earlier I had been dilated at a 2. By 9 am I was having some seriously awful painful contractions. They seemed every minute and so fierce. At 9:15ish I asked for the epidural. For whatever reason they took their sweet time and didn't come for a full 45 minutes! Jer even went out in the hall to re-ask them to please come in. The pain was so excruciating, and it felt like the longest 45 minutes of my life. Next time I will for sure ask for the epidural before I need it, because what is the point of being in pain when you have the option for it to go away!? I felt nice for a while but then the nausea set in.
After the epidural but before the nausea
I'm hesitant to post these pictures of my fat face, but might as well be for real.
I seriously think it's the worst, I may even rather have contractions then feel sick to my stomach! After and hour or so Jeremy asked the nurse if there was anything she could give me for the nasuea, and I am so bummed I didn't ask her earlier. She came and gave me some zoloft, and I kid you not my stomach felt great within 5 minutes! That's when things got real crazy though. She told me my doctor would be in at lunchtime for a scheduled C-section which was in about an hour and would check me then. I figured I had a couple more hours since it took 12 hours my first labor, and things didn't seem to be going very quickly this time around either. She decided to check me and said "oh wow! You are dilated to an 8 or 9, I better let him know you are ready." I seriously didn't believe her and immediately said "shut up, you're such a liar!" (super classy, I know) She assured me she was being serious, though I could hardly believe it! I still figured I had an hour or so longer so I was surprised when 30 minutes later the whole crew came in and set up to go. I was dreading to push for so long but felt like I could push so much better because I had a lot more feeling than last time. My epidural was really strong the first time around to where I couldn't feel my legs at all for almost two day. That made it super difficult to push. So my mom ended up recording while Jeremy stayed up by my head and helped hold my leg. I pushed about 4 or 5 times and the little guy came right out! It was so amazing, I couldn't believe how easy it was compared to my experience with Kingsley. This little one was so cute and came out crying loudly. He has dark black hair and chubby cheeks just like Kingsley. His head however was really more oval shaped like Jeremys. He also looks like he has Jers chin. He has a really big dimple on the side of his cheek as well. In comparing newborn photos, he and Kingsley look very similar. He weighed a good 7 pounds 15 ounces and was 22 inches long. Poor kid was probably really cramped in there which is why I was having such bad back pain. It will be interesting to see in what ways he is similar to Kingsley and how he is different. He arrived at 11:36am.

After I was stitched up and the baby was cleaned up we moved rooms. It felt strange to already be done with the whole process. With Kingsley I had felt so emotionally drained and kind of depressed for a while after, but this time around I was happy and only a little tired.
Kingsley loved meeting his baby brother and is so sweet with him :)
The pictures of all my boys pretty much melts my heart.
Watching "animals" on Jer's phone
My hospital stay was not quite as pleasant this time around. I think mostly because Jer didn't stay with me & I got lonely without Kingsley's constant chatter. So when I had the option to leave after one night I took it! Of course it took longer to check out than expected, but I was so happy to be home.
Couldn't be more obsessed with my little Hudson. Babies are such a miracle!
Amazing! Birth stories are my favorite to read on blogs. Delivering for the 2nd time seems to be so much better for most. I love your classy comment- I to had a stellar moment when I snapped at my nurse to finally call my Doctor. Congratulations Hudson is gorgeous, I love the pictures with Kingsley. Hope to meet him soon!
