Girls Cali Weekend + Hawkes

Last weekend was a wonderful treat. I got to hang out in Anaheim with my Mom, Prezley, Meghan & Hawkes. I feel like the Potters are getting so large these days, that it is nice to be able to spend quality time with just a few members of my large family at a time. Jeremy & I drove up Friday afternoon to San Diego & I drove the rest of the way to Anaheim. I seriously HATE driving his huge truck, it makes me really nervous especially when I don't know exactly where I am going. I will be really glad for my own hopefully much smaller vehicle some day. Friday night we just hung out & played with Hawkes as I'm sure we were all tired from traveling. I must say Hawkes was an angel the whole trip..
Seriously though, we practically tortured him to get these cute sad faces.
Mostly he looked like this.. So stinkin cute!
Hawkes with Grandma.
Happy as a clam this one.
Saturday we headed down to downtown Disney to shop around before Prezley's cheer competition. (Which is why we were in California by the way)
Prez's lovely outfit for the day..
Prezley & I were feeling mighty unhappy in the morning due to girl issues but were pleased that some ib profin & shopping made us feel better. :) My mom & I bought twinner fanny packs which I was most excited about  as I have wanted one forever! I am hoping it will come in handy for Europe. We also got some makeup from Sephora especially for Prezley since she has Prom this Saturday. Meg & I also enjoyed some jamba juices which I crave often in MX especially during the hot summer. We walked back so Prezley could get competition ready. It was nice having our hotel right by the convention center & Disneyland though I feel as all the walking has really affected my calves!

That afternoon we headed to Prezley's first performance. It was really fun to watch her. I went back to watch her team warm-up & felt really nervous as it reminded me so much of when I competed in high school. Probably because my coach Shelly & tumbling coach Jason are now Prezley's all star coaches, strange huh? They did an AWESOME job with no major mistakes, & were pleased with their score against really talented California teams.
Prez is front & center during the dance & motions because she is the best! She is a base in stunts & her tumbling is one of the best on her team, her pass being a whip whip handspring full I believe.. She also does a couple standing full passes as well! I just could never get the hang of a full, she is a much better gymnast than I ever was.
After she competed we headed over to the mall to get some shopping in. Meg made a hall at H & M as they have such a great little boys selection & I came away with a new easter swim suit from Jer :) That night we got too tired to leave our hotel but were very hungry.. After many failed attempts to get domino's we finally got some food from the hotel restaurant which was delicious. We teased my mom because she never seems to be hungry & said dad would have never let us go this long without food!

Sunday morning we just relaxed in our room & watched the newest Harry Potter. After Prez left early for her competition the rest of us had a delicious lunch at the Cheesecake factory.
Jeremy stopped by after lunch to hang out & watch Prezley perform.
He is not a natural with babies just yet, though he does have about the same amount of hair as one..
Hawkes with his headphones on to block out the loud competition music.
The most entertaining thing about Prezley is she has the best showmanship ever. She is front & center like I said because you can't not watch her. Here are some examples:
There 2nd performance went well but not as perfect as the day before which was a bummer. She made a tiny mistake and blanked out for a second on the dance because the girl next to her was a coupe counts early. It was seriously only 3 seconds before she caught back on. It was so sad though because she came out crying after they performed, which I have never seen by the way & it just broke our hearts. Seriously Meg & I teared up & Jeremy didn't know what to do which is totally unlike him. She was fine within a minute but I could understand her disappointment that she had put so much hard work in & was mad to make a mistake at her last competition. She really did amazing though, no stunts fell & her tumbling pass looked perfectly effortless. I miss cheer, so I am glad to have a little sister I can watch & can't wait to go to her competitions next year.

The whole gang. Jeremy was fascinated by the competition by that way. He really enjoyed asking questions & adding his own commentary on whether teams were good or not. I am positive he will be attending more cheerleading events :)
After her competition we made Jeremy & Prez pick us up some cheesecake to enjoy. Hawkes on the other hand just started eating people when he got hungry :)
That night we watched some cooking show, actually now come to think of it every night we watched some sort of cooking/baking show of sorts & ate random crap for dinner. We went to sleep early so we would be all energized for:
DISNEYLAND!!!
to be continued..

Conference weekend in San Diego

This last weekend we headed up to San Diego, to hang out with friends & because it was conference didn't have to worry about who would take over primary & the young men.
On our way up we stopped in Mexicali at a place Jeremy said has the best breakfast. I am always skeptical of such claims due to the fact that they always look run down & dirty. Seriously though he was not kidding, the food was amazing!!
(so much so that we also ate there on our way home too)
I have yet to find a place in San Felipe that I love. There is a spectacular pizza place, but it is American run so I don't really count it as authentic Mexican food.

The owner cooks all the meat on the teeny grill outside.
If you are ever in the area you have to eat here @ Yocojihua! Why you would be I have no clue, but hey I'm here right?! It is family run, & the owner is seriously so nice. (top right corner)
Saturday Rachelle & I hung out & listened to conference while the boys were off golfing. We went shopping that night when the boys went to priesthood. (I am always jealous though because I feel like some of the best talks are given at priesthood)
While shopping I bought 2 pairs of shoes, which means 3 new pairs just this month.. Yes I'm pretty sure shoes have become my new obsession. I loved being at the mall, people watching is just so entertaining!
When the boys got back we headed out for sushi, something Jeremy & I always crave up in the states. After the first place was a 2 hr wait we headed to another one to fill our fish cravings. Yum I love sushi!
Sunday was a lazy day as we just laid on the couch & watched more conference. I love conference as it is such a good reminder to always do better. We made goals to help us improve.
During the break we took the dogs on a much needed walk.
The weather was pretty funky all weekend switching back & forth from hot to cold & windy.

That afternoon we decided to head over to Chris & Amy's to visit. It was so fun to see the boys. Teddy seems so much older & has the most beautiful light blue eyes just like Amy. Jeremy was getting on my last nerve as he had gotten bored and decided bugging me was his entertainment, so I was glad when he directed some of his teasing towards Truman & Chris instead of just me! Jeremy did his best to convince Chris he needed to come on the second half of our Europe trip so we are crossing our fingers they come :)
Well that was basically our weekend & it was lovely. Excited I am going right back up this weekend for Prezley's cheer competition!

bow ties

Diesel has always been a fashionable young guy. Jeremy has mentioned that he may even be metro. It's mainly my fault since he grew up with all women.. He loves to cuddle, hates getting dirty, enjoys looking good & I wouldn't have it any other way!
Still glad Jeremy took him in with open arms & adopted my little buddy. ;)
I saw this bow tie collar & knew diesel HAD to have it.
If only Jeremy had as much style as this little pup..

Blues & Arts Festival

I came back from Utah to San Felipe with Jeremy's parents. It's always nice to have visitors to switch things up a bit. Saturday Sandy & I hit up the pool to get some tanning & reading in, while Jeremy & Earl golfed. (Sandy is a reading fanatic, & knows every good book ever written) The weather was in the 80's which was just perfect. That night we attended the Blues & Arts festival which I have never been to. It was full of white older hippies, & only a few mexicans selling food. The music was ok, but I think had we stayed later they were saving the best musicians for last. They had a bunch of tents set up to sell art & such. I bought some jerky & doggy treats, the in laws bought some chocolate, while Jeremy came away with a iron decorative cross?? (as seen in the picture below) Random.. but oh well he said he was just supporting the arts!
Sunday Sandy & Earl got to come to our little branch & hear Jeremy speak in sacrament. Sometimes it amazes me how opposite we are. Jeremy like my own dad can prepare for ten minutes & give a wonderful 20 minute talk with no sweat. I on the other hand would prepare for hours to give a crappy 5 min talk & probably cry out of fear of speaking in public. (when I get nervous I add a bunch of "likes" into my sentences) My sweet husband knows this about me, & so when the branch president called to ask me to speak he volunteered in my place. *True Love* :)
Monday we played a little couples golf & had dinner with some friends. It was a really fun weekend. Seems like Jeremy & I are so busy the next couple month's!! We seriously have plans every weekend. I love having things to look forward to.

Well better get back to conference.. I struggle to stay tuned during the women speakers, I know that's bad but maybe it's because their voices are so soothing?? ha

Here is the deal..

So, I'm pretty sure the first tip to the police that i have been brutally murdered will be someone calling in saying: "We hadn't heard from her for a while.. but we REALLY knew something was wrong when she hadn't posted something on her blog for over a week!"
(Obviously I have been watching too much Dexter)
Seriously am I that pathetic?? Yes. I feel as if blog posts are like school work for some reason.. I get very anxious when it's been too long or I didn't document something correctly. So you can imagine how I felt finding some pictures I had of the 2nd half of my Utah trip that I had skipped over.. It really bothers me that my posts will now be out of order, but I couldn't think of a way to fix it without deleting & re-doing posts which started to drive me crazy..
(thank you Courtney for telling me how to correct this problem :))
SO anyways now that I have informed all of you what a psycho I am.. here is the last part of my Utah trip:
Monday the kids had school off, so Prez & I took some pictures & then headed down to the mall to shop around.
Tuesday afternoon I had a fun lunch with Bri, Brooke, & Randi. It's always so fun to get together with those gals :) That night I ventured down to Mac's to stunt with my old/favorite partner Wylder. I brought Prez  along too so she could learn how to stunt as well. In case you are wondering I didn't suck as bad as I thought I would, but I was definitely super super sore the next day.

Wednesday I had lunch with Wylder, Morgan, & Mandy (who is adorably pregnant.) It's always so nice to get together with old friends. I got my hair done by Mindy & then had a scrumptious Thai dinner with Jodie.
Thursday Landon, Meg & Hawkes came down so we could watch the BYU basketball game. As I mentioned earlier we went with Prezley to help her pick a prom dress.

As you can see I was really pushing for the ones with sparkle. :)
Well there, now I feel much better. Luckily for me I have been watching the 2nd lord of the rings while I have been writing this so I have been thoroughly entertained :)

I finally found a model!

My little sister Prezley!!
It was so great to hang out with Prez last week. So fun to know what is going on in her life with cheer, boys & school. She got asked to Prom while I was there by TWO boys! We got to go with her to try on dresses & I was so jealous. I miss being able to get all dolled up & wear a fancy dress. Can't wait till she gets older & married, I know we will be the best of friends!
So without further adieu here are some shots of my gorgeous little sister.

2nd Birthday

I finally found some energy to edit all my pictures from Utah & load em to the blog. Sunday while in Utah I got lucky enough to attend this little 2yr olds birthday! How sweet is his smile?
His mom made him the most adorable cookie monster cake because he loves everything sesame st.
This is him clapping after he blew out (spit out) his candles :)
I saw these cute sesame cake pops the week before on etsy & knew Atlas needed them for his birthday! At first we were concerned he wouldn't want to eat his tv friends, but it was actually the opposite! He wanted to take a bite out of each & then put them back. Below him eating big bird :)
We decided Tanner & Meggy look like siblings, agree?
He got plenty of clothes, shoes but mostly books.
Though he seemed mostly interested in his new drum set! He actually was SO good at it! Pretty much holding a beat & hitting the symbol right on cue. He is for sure going to be a famous drummer someday, even if his parents go deaf in the process :)
Even Hawkes could enjoy the ruckus with these sound proof head phones on.. Pretty sure it is the most adorable accessory a baby can have! :)
Meg got these cute sweatsuits for the boys to resemble the movie the royal tennenbams. I have never seen it, but enjoy twinner outfits all the same!
Atlas trying to make me feel bad he can still wear short shorts..
My moms attempt to get a picture of all the boys.
These pictures were defiantly difficult to get..
Mainly because Atlas is such a sweetheart & would stop playing whenever Hawkes started crying. SO cute of him replacing Hawkes binkie in his mouth.

Happy Birthday Little buddy, we love you tons & can't wait to see you next!

Slumber Party

Saturday night was a blast. My cute cousin Elle kept texting me to see if I could come to her birthday party, she is so sweet! So since Jeremy didn't come with me I invited her over for a sleepover! I miss being a kid, sleep overs are the best! After Elle & I passed all of Super Mario Bro's 1st level, Elle suggested a blindfolded makeover..
What is that you ask? It basically looks something like this:

We put our pajamas on and built a fort of course. Which lead to a jumping, laughing photo op.
Jeremy will probably dispute this claim, but it was the most fun slumber party I have had in a long time! :)
